Could the legendary Ford GT make another comeback? Automobile magazine believes so. Speaking with Derrick Kuzak, Ford’s head of global product development, the question of whether Ford was interested in building a successor the GT was brought up. Kuzak paused for a moment and dropped the following bombshell:
“Well I think there are certain things that we don’t want to talk about in terms of four-year product plans, if that’s okay.”
This — of course — isn’t a confirmation or a denial of the GT’s return. What this shows, however, is that Ford has most likely been thinking about resurrecting the GT. The question now is whether the car will copy the last two versions with a manual transmission and a big throaty V8 or go in a completely different direction with a hybrid or electric powertrain mated to some sort of fancy-pants DSG. Whatever the case may be, time will only tell whether the Ford of all Fords will actually make a return.
