Ford has announced a few updates for the Indian-market Ford Fiesta Classic that will make the car more competitive and affordable. The sedan receives a freshened interior — with a new Ebony- and Jasper Blue-colored instrument panel, a new center and floor console with a Graphic Metallic finish, new seats, and an improved dual-tone door trim. On the outside, the Fiesta Classic gains a new color called Colorado Red.
The revised Fiesta Classic is available in three trim levels — LXI, CLXI, and SXI — with a choice of a 1.6 liter Duratec gasoline engine and 1.4 Duratorq diesel powerplant. The car, which has recently been rebadged as the Fiesta Classic, starts at Rs. 549,030, ($12,357 at current conversion rates) for the gasoline version and Rs. 648,000 ($14,548) for the diesel version and is only available as a sedan.
Not to be confused with the all-new global (6th-gen) Fiesta, the Classic is pretty much a last-generation (5th-gen) Fiesta sedan under the sheetmetal. It will be joined by the new global Fiesta in the Indian market when the global car becomes available this year. The Fiesta Classic is only available in sedan form; its hatchback brother wears the Figo badge in India.
