Ford Injects UK With Newest Limited-Edition SportVan

First released in 2007, the Ford Transit SportVan was created for those who wanted to make a statement with their commercial vehicle. And the latest edition — the seventh in the series — adds no shortage of spunk to The Blue Oval’s big utility wagon.

The instantly-distinguishable exterior is coated in Moondust Silver and complemented by graphite stripes. A set of 18-inch graphite alloys (to match the sexy stripes) fills the wheel wells while a dual twin exhaust and an aero kit — comprised of front and rear lower spoilers, side skirts, and extended wheel arches — round out the package.

Built on a short wheelbase 260 Transit model, the SportVan has a 2.2 liter turbo-diesel mated to a six-speed manual good for 140 metric horsepower to the front wheels. As you’d expect from a Limited Edition product, the cabin has all the fixins a modern van should have — like rain sensing wipers as well as optional leather seats and navigation with a back-up camera.

Only 180 examples will be made of this SportVan — and it would surprise us if all of them didn’t sell out in a matter of a month or two. In fact, the six generations of special edition SportVans preceding this one — including the blue with white stripes (500 units produced), grey with silver stripes (80), black with silver (500), white with blue (80), dark blue with silver (150), and red with white stripes (most recent) — were all sold out.

The price? £23, 670 — or $36,900 — at current conversion rates.

The Motrolix Take

Just a tad better than your special editino E-Series, ain’t it?
