Those looking for that perfect crate engine for a track-day car or a build-it-yourself project should consider Ford’s new Z460 crate powerplant — the largest small-block crate engine The Blue Oval has ever made.
Based on the 351 Windsor block grown to 460 cubic inches, the mill produces a whopping 575 horsepower and 575 lb.-ft. of torque running on premium gas, while being street legal — allowing track hounds to drive to the track, enjoy some spirited driving, and then drive back home (or to a party) without too much hassle.
To make matters even better (or more durable), the crankshaft, H-beam connecting rods and pistons are all forged, being able to stand up to some puh-puh-puh-power.
