On the evening of Tuesday, October 16th, Ford Motor Company, in conjunction with Decades LA — Hollywood’s outlet for vintage couture and modern luxury consignment, hosted a 50th anniversary celebration of its iconic Mustang pony car. Now, before Mustang die-hards and historians begin scrolling down the page to the comments section, we should note that the Stang doesn’t officially turn 50 until 2014, so the party took place ahead of its official birthday year. Coincidentally, 2014 will serve as the year that the all-new sixth-generation 2015 Mustang is unveiled and launched.
Present and accounted for at the Stang’s bash was Ford Director of Design Joel Piaskowski, who discussed the interaction between fashion and the design of the Mustang, and how both were influenced by various trends. To top it all off, Mustang’s pre-birthday party was attended by notable public figures including Max Greenfield, Harry Hamlin, Tony Okungbowa, Garcelle Beauvais and Sky Nellor.
