The newfound availability of Ford’s global performance vehicles in North American consumers opens some exciting possibilities for tuning and customization. One such exciting possibility that has become reality is U.K.-based tuning firm Mountune announcing in August plans to bring its array of high-performance and racing parts for Ford vehicles, including the Fiesta ST and Focus ST, to the States.
Having set up its U.S. headquarters in Southern Cali, Mountune — Ford’s official European tuning partner, will make its goods available through Ford dealerships, where the parts will carry a Ford Racing warranty when installed by a Ford dealer. Mountune has recently launched a U.S.-specific website and its parts will also be available via select “authorized Mountune dealers”, which we imagine to be Ford dealerships throughout the country. The firm also says that it will collaborate with Ford Racing to develop future components for both street and track that will be covered by a Ford Racing warranty (when installed by a Ford dealer).
Mountune’s U.S. operations will be headed by Ken Anderson, who brings extensive industry experience having worked with Cosworth in building its U.S. aftermarket and racing parts business.
