Update: Ford has officially pulled the wraps off the all-new 2015 Mustang.
Behold the most anticipated car of the year, perhaps even the decade: the 2015 Ford Mustang. The all-new model marks an evolution of the classic pony car, bringing it in line with modern times while allowing it to instantly be recognized as America’s original pony car.
These photos of the 2015 ‘Stang are from a leaked cover of the newest issue of Autoweek (via Mustang5G forums). The pony sits prominently up front, as do a set of slanted LED strips in the light cluster. The flanks seem taught and tighter, giving the car a more compact appearance. The fastback body style is instantly recognizable from the side, as are the three-bar taillights in the rear, which are now mounted in an angled fashion.
Overall, the design sports a mix of classic and fresh cues, with some traditional elements making their way into the design of the fifth-gen ‘Stang without being exceedingly retro. In other words, a job well done by the fine ladies and gentlemen at The Blue Oval; we’re sure the global markets where this fifth-gen sports car will be sold feel the same.
Stay tuned as we learn more about the all-new 2015 Mustang, including technical specifications, throughout the week.
I think where camaro is weak is the interior. The new mustang might really outshine inside.
In my opinon, the 4th-gen Mustang already had a better interior than the Camaro. The only thing the Mustang needed was a styling change to bring it into the 21st century (and made it smaller, more manageable, and more livable) as well as the replacement of the live rear axle with an independent rear suspension. With both of these accomplished, all Ford needs to do is provide incremental improvements in technology (such as keyless entry and start), as well as a head-up display and some other modern amenities. I’m sure these items are in the cards for the 2015 model. In other words, this car looks to be a winner.
