Ford didn’t hold back in designing the 2015 Mustang, as the attention to detail in its new pony is nothing short of impressive. In the video below, Susan Lampinen, Ford group chief designer, color and materials, discusses the enhanced craftsmanship found in the all-new pony.

Exterior Colors

The 2015 Mustang will offer a range of exterior colors, including the traditional “blacks, whites, silvers, and grays”. But it will also offer “expressive, bold, and powerful colors”, such as race red, tinted Clearcoat red, a brand new yellow “that’s really special”, as well as orange, and blue. And since colors are very personal to people depending on who they are and how they want to express themselves, Ford will also offer some “sophisticated colors” — whatever that might mean.

The Interior

According to Lampinen, the reaction of those who enter the 2015 Mustang for the first will go something like, this “is the coolest interior I’ve seen.”

That’s probably because everything is “real”, with plated metals, chrome, and satins. Plus, if it looks like aluminum, then it is aluminum. “When you sit in it, you have an experience that’s tough, that’s expressive, that’s up-quality, and that’s actually fun to drive.”

Lampinen says that Ford was “relentless” in pursuing the best quality of materials and the best execution, with a lot of attention to detail going to textures, material quality, and then colors.
