Ford India Sales Up 19 Percent To 12,050 Units In November 2013

Ford India reported sales of 12,050 vehicles in November 2013, representing a 19 percent year-over-year increase. The sales figure represents domestic wholesales as well as export sales.

Domestic sales increased to 7,909 units in November, up 33 percent from 5,944 units in 2012, with special offers such as free insurance, exchange bonuses, and reduced maintenance costs attracting more customers into showrooms. Meanwhile, exports remained steady at 4,141 units.

“We are happy that we continue to register steady sales growth despite persistent market challenges as Indian consumers respond enthusiastically to our smart, fuel-efficient and dependable vehicles,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “At Ford, we strive to provide best-in-class products for our valued customers. This festive season, our smart and exciting offers added to the joys of ownership.”

The Motrolix Take

In an effort to boost sales in one of the world’s largest markets, Ford is in the process of overhauling its underperforming operations in India. As such, it’s very possible that the sales results seen here today will grow significantly by November 2014.
