2014 Subaru WRX And 2013 Ford Focus ST Go Head 2 Head: Video

Ford’s Focus ST pleasantly surprised members of the automotive media and driving enthusiasts all over the world when it first showed up in 2012. In fact, Motor Trend liked it so much, it brought it along to the annual Best Drivers Car competition, where it was the less expensive car (by about $70,000) and, as host Johnny Lieberman said, did pretty okay for itself. So in an attempt to find something to dethrone the capable and astoundingly-fun hot hatch, MT pitted it against the new Subaru WRX in the latest episode of Head 2 Head.

The facts are these: both cars cost around $30,000, both have turbocharged four-cylinder engines, and both have proper six-speed manual transmissions. But whereas the WRX utilizes Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system, the ST has to make do with front-wheel drive.

So, can the Subaru take top spot as MT‘s favourite small turbocharged pocket rocket, or will the mighty Focus ST reign supreme? Watch below to find out.
