2015 F-Series Family May Lose Tremor, Raptor Models

The introduction of the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 will see the demise of the F-150 Tremor sport truck. According to a report from AN, the Tremor, which went on sale in the fourth quarter of last year, will not live past its first year on the market — a circumstance that could change in later production years.

Adding some salt to the wound is news that Ford’s off-road-oriented F-150 SVT Raptor will also not join the 2015 F-150 lineup, as anonymous source told AN that Ford does not have a Raptor variant in the 2015 F-150’s production schedule… at least not initially.

However, Ford ran a disguised 2015 F-150 in the Baja 1000 this year, stamping 2014 F-150 body panels out of aluminum and attaching them to the 2015 truck’s aluminium cab and chassis. The automaker then stuck its all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine under the hood and successfully ran the race as a sort of pre-production torture test. One could say that this kind of stringent off-road testing means that The Blue Oval has a Raptor – or some sort of off-road model — in the pipeline. Or so we hope.
