When the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang begins arriving in showrooms later this year, it will feature the next-generation SYNC AppLink system as standard equipment. A component of the SYNC infotainment system, SYNC AppLink provides a way for the driver to safely interact with apps running on his or her smartphone by using vehicle controls such as buttons on the steering wheel and voice recognition, all while keeping hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
Among the new features of the improved SYNC AppLink are simpler in-vehicle menu controls, the ability for apps to access real-time vehicle data, the addition of voice pass-through capability, and notifications that can be read aloud to drivers.
Outside of the state-of-the-art connectivity systems, the new Mustang will offer a plethora of other high-tech features, including advanced driver-assist systems, track apps, and launch control.
The enhanced version of SYNC AppLink will debut on the new Mustang and then be rolled out to the rest of the Ford product line. Now if only MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch could get the SYNC AppLink goodness…
Such a slap in the face to existing Ford customers who bought vehicles with My Ford Touch because AppLink was promised.
Chris,
In case you didn’t know the 2015 Mustang will be the first Ford vehicle to actually have MyFordTouch system as well as the SYNC Applink simutaneously. The future is looking bright for the future Ford vehicles and I definitely want the new Mustang.
Raf, how sure are you about that?
Hey Raf
On the Serious Explorations Forum the Ford IVT Rep is telling us no AppLink with MFT so you will need to check your sources.
AppLink and MFT are not compatible on the 15 Mustang either
