Bentley Sells Record Number Of Vehicles In 2013, Eyes Continued Growth In 2014

Many automakers have posted record sales for 2013. when it comes to Bentley, the Volkswagen Auto Group-owned brand is uniquely proud to have sold 10,120 units during the past year, a 19 percent increase compared to the 8,510 models sold in 2012. But Bentley isn’t settling.

For starters, the brand is expanding its dealership network across the globe, with the amount of showrooms around the world jumping 11 percent to 193 total. With 3,140 units sold, the brand’s most lucrative market during 2013 has been the Americas; that’s an increase of 28 percent year-over-year from the 2,457 vehicles sold in 2012. The next in-demand market was China, where Bentley sold 2,191 units over the course of 2013, down slightly from 2,253 units sold the previous year. In Europe, the brand saw its sales spike 11 percent to 1,480 units. Even with economic problems plaguing most of the continent, the generally solid markets of Germany and the United Kingdom solidified the gain.

Notably, 2013 marks their fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth for Bentley.

“We continue to win new customers, and we are confident that 2014 will be another successful year for Bentley,” said Bentley boss Wolfgang Schreiber. The arrival of the Bentley Continental GT V8 S to North American shores should undoubtedly help that accomplishing that goal.
