Lincoln has teamed up with Interscope Records and musician Aloe Blacc — made huge by the Avicii remix to his song Wake Me Up — to create a bilateral music video for his new song Love is the Answer. The video features the Lincoln MKZ sedan and does its best to shed the stodginess that seems to have been plaguing the brand.
Lincoln has recently began a new initiative of combining music and film to tell distinct stories about the company, something they believe is different from their fellow automakers.
“Lincoln is a classic luxury brand but is reinventing itself in a very modern way, which I can relate to right now as an artist going through a transformation with my music,” Blacc said. “The way the digital experience was shot incorporates this new technology to directly engage with the individual so they become part of the story, and the results are beautiful.”
Last year Lincoln sponsored a campaign entitled Hello Again. The video featured award-winning singer and song-writer Beck and provided the consumer with a luxurious automotive experience. Additionally, the company sponsors the Film Independent Spirit Awards and not too long ago they collaborated with Vanity Fair and Film Independent to support emerging film makers. These developing directors created short films that remade classic Hollywood themes.
