Red Bull recently ruined some skiers vacations with the sound of loud, high-revving V8 race trucks at their Frozen Rush event held at the Sunday River Ski Resort in Newry, Maine.
Frozen Rush takes the 900 horsepower Pro4 race trucks built for the TORC and Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series and pits them against one another on a sub-zero, snow covered circuit.
Eight drivers participated in the single elimination style event, which has two competitors run at the same time, alternating between “red” and “blue” courses. TORC Pro4 champion Ricky Johnson took home first place, beating runner up Bryce Menzies by 0.2 seconds.
Over 10,000 spectators turned up at inaugural Frozen Rush race to watch the trucks fly through the air, slide around corners and, sometimes, crash into the snow walls. Check out the action in the video below.
