One of Bentley Motors‘ “most famous cars in the marque’s history” will be on display at the at the Retromobile exhibition next month in France. That vehicle is none other than the 1924 Le Mans winning 3 Liter race car. Bentley went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans three more times in the 20’s, in 1927, 1928 and 1929.
While Bentley may not be running a factory team in Le Mans these days, the company continues to honor its racing heritage with a new Continental GT3 race program underway that is confirmed to race at Silverstone, Monza and the Paul Ricard Circuit later this year. Hopefully a surprise announcement of a Le Mans re-entry will follow suit.
“This is a wonderful car to lead our presence at Retromobile in Paris,” said Head of the Bentley Heritage Collection Richard Charlesworth. “The car is truly one of the great racing Bentleys, and is part of this marque’s association with France and motor racing.”
