Ford finds itself in the award-hunt again, receiving two Kelly Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own Awards in 2014.
For those unfamiliar with the awards, KBB looks further than the price of a vehicle, taking into account expenses such as repairs, maintenance, insurance, fuel and, of course, the original purchase price. Leaving no stone unturned, KBB also accounts for depreciation and financing over time when calculating the winners. To Ford’s delight, the Mustang received the award from the Sports Car category, while the Explorer took first-place in the full-size SUV’s and Crossover category.
