Ford Announces “EcoSport Live!” Campaign To Promote New CUV, SYNC In Europe

To promote its EcoSport subcompact CUV and the vehicle’s SYNC with AppLink infotainment system in Europe, Ford has announced plans to launch an integrated promotion called “EcoSport Live!”.

The Concert

Hosted by U.K. TV and radio star Sarah-Jane Crawford, the EcoSport Live concert will place at 21:00 CET on February 26th in Barcelona. It will feature 10 up-and-coming acts, including Mickael Miro, Nina Zilli, and Natalie McCool, and will be broadcast live on Spotify and live-streamed on the Ford of Europe YouTube channel.

The line-up of acts confirmed to perform at Esferic, Plaza Dante, Montjuic, Barcelona will include:

  • France: Mickael Miro, male singer-songwriter
  • Germany: Hello Gravity, four-piece indie-pop band
  • Italy: Nina Zilli, female soul-pop diva
  • U.K: Natalie McCool, singer songwriter

The “EcoSport Live!” campaign will be formally announced by Paul Mascarenas, Ford chief technical officer and vice president Research and Innovation, at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, on February 26th.

Some of you might recall that Ford has something special planned for today (February 24th) in Barcelona, as it will be premiering “a new global car” with advanced connectivity, safety and driver assist technologies at the Mobile World Congress.

The Bloggers Initiative

As part of the campaign, Ford will loan up to 100 new EcoSports for up to six months to music, fashion, food and sport bloggers from the European countries of Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K. The bloggers will then share their experiences of the car on social media while putting Ford SYNC with AppLink through the paces. The effort really reminds us of the Fiesta Challenge that Ford hosted when launching the Fiesta in the U.S.

Throughout the year, Ford will announce special “EcoSport Live!” events in each of the 10 countries – including local challenges and celebrity drives.

The “EcoSport Live!” campaign will be formally announced by Paul Mascarenas, Ford chief technical officer and vice president Research and Innovation, at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 26th, so stay tuned as we learn more about it throughout the week.

To note, the EcoSport crossover has already been on sale throughout Europe in 2013, and is currently on sale in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. Meanwhile, SYNC with AppLink was recently launched in the region.
