Ford is bringing a number of welcome updates to its full-size 2015 Expedition SUV, with one of the more minute yet important changes being the addition of the Platinum trim level.
Following in the footsteps of the F-150, the Platinum trim level on the refreshed Expedition was designed to be fresh, sophisticated, and urban. According to Ford, the Expedition Platinum will feature luxurious leather seating that has been described by designers as buttery, soft, and smooth to the touch. The leather in question will be available in black hue with Agate Gray accents as well as the new Brunello color — a red wine hue with tuxedo-stripe accents and French-seamed stitching. We’re told that the Expedition’s Platinum trim will also offer several exterior styling elements (such as trim pieces and wheels), but Ford has yet to specify what those will be.
Besides the range-topping Platinum, the 2015 Expedition will be available in XLT, Limited, and King Ranch trim levels, with the design team incorporating different themes that define the look of each series with the intent to reflect a certain lifestyle. The XLT, for instance, has a sporty character, while the Limited exudes a confident and elegant aura.
