Porsche Teases Le Mans 919 P1 Hybrid With Short Film: Video

After a 16-year absence from the 24-Hour Le Mans spectacle in the LMP1 class (no, not that P1), Porsche is set to make a triumphant return with its new 919 hybrid.

The Le Mans 24-Hour is considered the pinnacle of sports car racing and the last time Porsche competed in the LMP1 class at the event (1998) the team took home both first and second place; a performance hard to match for the 2014 car, especially due to such a lengthy absence from competition. But with former Red Bull Racing Formula 1 driver Mark Webber as one of the drivers, who knows. Porsche also competes in the GT Pro class with its 911 RSR.

In light of the prestigious Le Mans and the car manufacturers long-awaited return to one of racing’s holy grails, Porsche has shown off the 919 in a short film titled “The Art of the Pitstop”. The video takes the viewer through a slow-motion rendition of a pit-stop, accompanied by ballet-like music sure to leave goosebumps on any car-lovers epidermal layer – not to mention the Edith Piaf vocals for the added French touch.

Stay tuned for any updates pertaining to Porsche’s long-awaited return to the Le Mans 24-Hour race, and enjoy the video just below.
