Subaru U.S. Sales Up 19 Percent To 33,000 Units In January 2014: By The Numbers

Subaru dealers delivered 33,000 vehicles in the month of January 2014, a 19 percent increase over January 2013.

The automaker cites “increased availability of the strong selling Forester and Crosstrek models” as catalysts for its strong performance sales during the month. Subaru expects the sales momentum to continue throughout 2014 as its launches the all-new 2015 Legacy sedan as well as “more new models” later in 2014.

“It’s great to start the year off in such positive fashion”, said Thomas J. Doll, president and COO of Subaru of America. “Attending the National Automotive Dealer Association meeting last month, we could see that our retailers are in a buoyant and positive mood. We have a lot to look forward to in 2014.”

“Our crossover models are the mainstay of our growth but we expect our sedan models to follow that trend in 2014 with the launch of the all-new Legacy which will take that model into new territory”, said William H. Cyphers, senior vice president of sales.
