Teslarati – the website that poses as the voice behind the Tesla lifestyle – has developed a concept called the Tesla Racing Series.
The racing series consists of the Tesla Model S being driven at various events, which the Teslarati showcases for fans and car enthusiasts alike. Combine the new racing series posts with Teslarati’s love of everything Tesla Motors and you will find more than enough to keep your interest sustained.
Watching the video isn’t too exciting from a spectator’s perspective – with an electric engine, the car ceases to make any noise and the audio for the video is almost solely comprised of tire screeching. What is compelling, however, is watching an electric car fly around a track at 113mph. The Model S clocked its best lap time around the 2.1-mile Buttonwillow circuit at a rather impressive 2 minutes, 11 seconds.
The Model S covered 33 miles of track during its initial 10-lap stint, using 90 miles of charge to get the job done. Again, thanks to charger technology, fuel costs remain nullified.
