Ford Announces Limited Run Falcon GT Final Edtion For Australia

Ford is waving farewell to its vehicle production operations as well as its Ford Performance Vehicle division in Australia. The automaker is looking to go out with a bang, or rather a roar, with the introduction of the Ford Falcon FPV GT-F, a limited-edition run of 550 Falcon sedans based on the Falcon GT.

500 examples of the Falcon FPV GT-F, the F standing for “Final”, will be sold in Australia, while the remainder will be exported to New Zealand. The special editions are easily identifiable thanks to five available exterior hues with standard matte black striping. Power comes from a 470 horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine, while braking responsibilities come from a set of Brembo brakes with 6 pistons in the front and 4 in the rear. When the going gets twisty, a specially tuned suspension setup similar to the high-performance Falcon GT R-Spec’s will help keep things in check.

It would be almost un-Australian to introduce a final edition of the Ford Falcon GT without rolling out a Ute variation. Ford will also introduce the FPV V8 Pursuit Ute alongside the Falcon FPV GT-F. It will feature the same styling cues and striping package as the FPV GT-F, along with special “Pursuit” badging and a 420 horsepower version of Ford’s 5.0-liter V8 engine. It will be limited to just 120 units.
