Ford Looks Back On The Ten Year Anniversary Of The Ford GT

It’s hard to believe that it has been nearly a decade since the debut of Ford’s retro-rocket GT. Ten years ago, that land missile delivered a presence that no other vehicle on the road could possibly match. Promising sub-four second 0-60 sprints with ease, instant red-light mashing excellence, and one unmistakable V8 burble, the 5.4L Supercharged V8 packed an impressive 550 horsepower in a time when the venerable Ferrari F430 only produced 483 hp.

When it debuted, the world was taken aback by its beauty, as Ford successfully mimicked the original GT40 and its days of LeMans racing excellence—and showing the Italian Stallions a thing or two about motorsport. Even still parked amongst a crowd of Lamborghinis, McLarens, and Porsches, the classic GT still attracts the same wonder-struck looks that its predecessor received some 50 years ago.

And so, with another ten years gone by, the men and women from Crank and Piston decided to throw together a short video remembering all the wonderful things that the iconic GT brought to the automotive universe.

For a quick 2-minute trip down memory lane, hit the lights, grab some tissues, and turn up the volume—this is going to be a good one.
