The Big Three automaker’s collectively lit up with excitement when Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon mentioned he was in the market for a shiny new full-size pickup truck during an airing of the show early last month. Chevrolet, Ford and Ram all pitched their respective products to the famous and funny Fallon in different ways, but he ultimately decided to go with a new 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch.
Fallon announced the decision last week, holding up a photograph of a 2015 F-150 Lariat, which won’t officially go on sale until later on in the year. Due to the truck not yet being available, Ford is lending Fallon a 2014 F-150 King Ranch until his new 2015 model is available.
The same night Fallon also announced he would hold a contest on the show sometime this week called “Fingers on a 4×4”, which will decide which Ford dealer gets the honors of selling him the truck. The contest involves inviting representatives from 10 different Ford dealers to New York, where they will all place a hand on the truck at the same time until there is only one salesperson left standing.
