Thanks to the all-new 2015 Mustang, Ford is bringing the Mustang to Europe. Not by way of some half-baked, gray-market import/export scheme, but officially — through The Blue Oval and its dealerships. That much you may have already known. But what you might not have known is that Ford will give European pony car enthusiasts the chance to be among the first to order a 2015 Mustang during the upcoming UEFA Champions League Final between Real Madrid CF and Club Atlético de Madrid on May 24th.
The Blue Oval has announced that the first 500 Europe-bound 2015 Mustangs will be made available to reserve from the start of the game until the moment the match ends, be that during extra time or penalties.
To reserve the pony, consumers should visit www.ford.com during the match to register and purchase one of the 500 models, which will include a special package and a limited-edition certificate.
To note, Ford has been an official UEFA Champions League partner since 1992. This year, the final game will take place in Lisbon, Portugal. It is expected to attract a Europe-wide audience of 70 million football fans and 165 million people around the world. And while those numbers are nothing short of impressive, we’re more moved by the fact that the 2015 pony will be the first Mustang made available across Europe when it goes on full sale next year.
