The Ford Fusion is not a car often bought by performance enthusiasts, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a little meat left on the bone of its available EcoBoost 2.0-liter and 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Michigan-based tuning specialists Livernois Motorsports are proving that fact with their tuning program for the mid-size sedan.
Livernois is the first tuning company to offer upgrades for the EcoBoost Fusion. They’ve developed four separate tuning settings for the MyCalibr8or electronic tuning device depending on which fuel octane you’re planning on using. The tune increases horsepower and torque, removes the top speed limiter and enhances the throttle response. In 1.5-liter models, the tune raised the stock output at the wheels from 146 horsepower and 167 lb-ft to 184 horsepower and a meaty 246 lb-ft.
The tune will work in conjunction with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive Fusions. Watch Livernois put it to the test in the video below and check out their website for information on their Fusion tuning package.
