Porsche is returning to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2014, giving Audi and its racing arm, Audi Sport, a reason to welcome the VAG family member and long-standing motorsports rival back to the race.
To do just that, Audi’s unbelievably-awesome R18 e-tron quattro race car traveled country and city roads alike to reach its destination in Stuttgart. Upon arriving, the R18 proceeds to extend a warm and smoky welcome in its own unique way — by (literally) burning out the words “Welcome Back” — right in front of Porsche’s headquarters. Suffice to say, it’s a bittersweet welcome.
A bittersweet welcome, indeed.
