Volkswagen introduced a refreshed version of its Scirocco at the Geneva Motor Show in March, with a revised exterior which brought the model more in line with the rest of the VW lineup and a thoroughly updated engine portfolio. Now, Wolfsburg has announced pricing for the facelifted coupe will remain mostly unchanged, starting from £20,445 in the United Kingdom.
For the 2015 model year, VW made small changes to the Scirocco’s engine lineup, ensuring all returning engines were Euro 6 emissions compliant. The 123 horsepower 1.4-liter four cylinder returns, while a new 178-horsepower 2.0-liter sits in place of the outgoing 158 horsepower 1.4-liter. A 217-horsepwer 2.0-liter TSI is also available and the 2.0-liter TSI in the Scirocco R receives a power bump from 261 to 276 horsepower. The 2.0-liter TDI diesel is also now offered in both 148 and 181 horsepower versions.
All engines come with a six-speed manual as standard and with an available six-speed dual clutch automatic, save for the 1.4-liter as it’s not compatible with the DSG unit.
Four trim levels will be offered on the 2015 Scirocco. The base ‘Scirocco’, the GT, which bumps the price to £22,305 and the Scircco R-line, which will run £27,020. The range-topping Scirocco R will start from £32,295. Orders can be placed on the car now with customer deliveries commencing in October in the UK.
