Audi Accepting Orders For A3 Sportback E-Tron In Europe

Audi has announced its first plug-in hybrid model, the A3 Sportback e-tron, has become available to order from Audi dealers in Europe with a starting price of 37,900 euros ($50,738 USD).

The A3 e-tron pairs a 1.4-liter TFSI four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 204 horsepower. The efficient hybrid drivetrain equates to a fuel consumption rating of 1.5-liters for every 100 km, equivalent to over 156 US mpg and provides a C02 emissions output of 56.3 g/mi. The A3 e-tron also has a combined range of 559.2 miles.

Audi says the plug-in hybrid A3 will be sold at 105 select dealers, with another 410 dealerships across Europe offering the car. Dealership employees will also be receiving special training in sales and service related to electric vehicles and 300 German high-voltage technicians and service advisors from Audi will receive additional training.

Audi dealers will now also have at least one charging station for e-tron customers to use. This allows e-tron customers to charge up at home, within the public charging infrastructure, or at the dealership.
