Audi Reportedly Working On RS6 Avant “Plus”

There are only two types of people who appreciate a fast wagon: Europeans and car enthusiasts. Unfortunately for American car enthusiasts, it will likely be our friends across the Atlantic who will get to experience the RS6 Avant Plus that Audi plans to produce.

According to documents leaked by a British Audi dealer, the Plus model will be based on the already-fast RS6 Avant (also not available in the U.S.) but with an additional 40-horsepower – that’s 600 horsepower from the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. The Plus is also expected to shed a few pounds.

Audi already claims the standard RS6 Avant will make the trot to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, and we can barely imagine how much quicker the jaunt will be with less weight and another 40 horses on board.

Fortunately the U.S. does get the sexy RS7, which shares its powertrain with the RS6 Avant. Maybe if we’re lucky, Audi will concoct an RS7 Plus for those of us who just want the chance to drive a 600-horsepower five-door.
