Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Likely Coming Soon

Dodge’s 2015 Challenger SRT will feature the company’s new 707-horsepower Hellcat V8, upping the ante in the pony car wars. However, some consumers need four doors and full-size comfort, which is why Dodge will likely place the Hellcat engine into the family-friendly Dodge Charger SRT in the near future.

According to Road and Track, when Dodge submitted the Hellcat to the Society of Automotive Engineers for power certification, they included the Charger in the paperwork. Road and Track believes that a Hellcat-powered Charger would be on the road in about a year from now, allowing the Challenger some time for exclusivity.

If Dodge were to go ahead with the plan of a Hellcat Charger, it would become the world’s most powerful production sedan, besting the Audi RS7’s 560 horsepower and even the Mercedes S65 AMG’s 621 horsepower.

Will a Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat be far behind?
