Ford India Sales Up 36 Percent To 11,935 Vehicles In June 2014

Ford India sold 11,935 vehicles in the month of June 2014, an increase of 36 percent over the 8,771 sales recorded in the same time frame one year ago. Of those 11,935 units, 7,258 units were to customers in India, while 4,677 units were classified as exports.

“The Government’s decision to extend the excise duty concession is a welcome move and will certainly uplift consumer purchasing sentiments as we head into the festive season over the next few months,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “It reflects the government’s recognition of the importance of the manufacturing sector and its contribution to overall economic growth.”

Notably, June marked the Indian-market introduction of the refreshed 2014 Ford Fiesta, which offers improved exterior and interior design and technology.
