Ford Raptor, Other Trim Levels Not Available For 2015 F-150

We had a fleeting suspicion that when Ford begins to offer its all-new 2015 F-150, the über-cool SVT Raptor variant might not return. A few days ago, our suspicion was made more concrete thanks to a report that the 2015 F-150 will lose a few trim levels, Raptor included… at least initially.

According to Ford-Trucks.com, not only will the SVT Raptor not be available for the 2015 model year, but neither will the FX2/FX4, Limited, and STX trim levels in the Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Supercrew cabs. To note, the FX4 off-road package will still be optional on the five launch trim levels of the all-new F-150, including XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum series trucks.

Given that we’ve already seen spy photos of a next-gen Raptor variant of the next-gen F-150 undergoing testing, it’s likely that Ford will offer the Raptor trim level on its new aluminum-heavy truck. When that will be, however, and whether the Raptor will use as much aluminum, is currently up in the air. Stay tuned to Motrolix as we learn more about the next-gen F-150 Raptor, as well as for other automotive news.
