Hellcat Finds Its Way Into The Facelifted 2015 Dodge Charger: Video

A bit more than a month ago, the automotive establishment was beside itself with the news that the Dodge Challenger would receive a 707-horsepower motor. It was only logical to assume the same motor would end up in the four-door Charger, and now it’s official.

Along with a deft facelift, the 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat is now the craziest, most intense sedan in the world. Its 11.0 ET on street tires is NHRA-certified, and it has a top speed of 204 miles per hour. Think a 1969 Polara 440-powered cop car can keep up? The 6.2L Hemi may be familiar to enthusiasts, but a blower brings horsepower to a range never seen in a production sedan. In under 13 seconds, it will go from 0-60-0, which is faster than what a stock 426 Hemi will go down the quarter mile.

According to Dodge, Dodge and SRT designers re-sculpted and refined “nearly every body panel with functional performance cues, including heat extractors in the hood, unique front and rear fascias and dramatic LED lighting in both front and rear.” What else would you need? How about 5.4-inch Brembos with six-piston calipers, 20 x 9.5-inch forged aluminum wheels with Pirelli P Zero performance tires, three-mode adaptive damping suspension and heavy-duty eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Charger also receives a new interior to go with its new-for-2015 facelift, with the Hellcat getting a SRT three-spoke steering wheel that’s flat at the bottom (shades of 1961!), reconfigurable digital gauge cluster, Nappa leather and Alcantara suede seating, and four new trim and color combinations.

Says Dodge and SRT President and CEO Tim Kuniskis, “For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger’s successful formula has been its many personalities. It’s a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car. And now, with a NHRA-certified quarter mile time of 11.0 seconds and a 204 mph top speed, the new 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat redefines itself again, as the quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan in the world!”

It’s official, folks. Go buy one and never have your kids be late to school again.
