Porsche U.S. Sales Up 12.57 Percent To 4,300 Units In July 2014: By The Numbers

Porsche dealers delivered 4,300 new Porsches in July 2014 in the United States. The results represent a 12.57 percent increase on a year-over-year basis and set a monthly sales record in the brand’s history in the country. In addition, Porsche has delivered 27,219 vehicles in the U.S. during the first seven months of 2014, an increase of 8.3 percent over the 25,129 units sold during the same time frame in 2013.

A total of 1,546 Cayenne SUVs were delivered in July, slightly below last year’s sales of 1,563 units. Meanwhile, the new Macan SUV recorded July sales of 952 and has reached a share of over ten percent of the year’s total sales volume in only its third month on the market. Also, the limited-edition 918 Spyder recorded deliveries of three units to the very first U.S. customers following its first U.S. sale in June. Porsche is expecting the sales numbers for the super sports car to increase over the coming months.

“We just announced the arrival of the new generation of our Cayenne range this fall, including the first plug-in hybrid in the premium SUV segment”, said Detlev von Platen, President and CEO, Porsche Cars North America. “So it is gratifying to recognize that the current Cayenne hasn’t lost its appeal and keeps up its sales momentum”.

The appeal of the Cayenne range doesn’t end there, as Porsche was also recognized as the number one brand in the 2014 J.D. Power and Associates APEAL Study for the tenth consecutive year, with the Cayenne, 911, and Boxster garnering top honors in their respective segments.

Sales of Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles in the U.S. came in at 996 for July 2014, an increase of 23 percent on a year-over-year basis.
