Roush Releases 2015 R2 Mustang Teaser, Will Debut At SEMA

As the 2015 Mustang ramps up for production, it also means we’re going to start seeing how tuners exploit the new ponycar. Roush Performance, a long-time player in the Mustang tuner wars, has released a preview of its R2 Mustang that will debut in about a month at the Specialty Equipment Market Association in Las Vegas.

As in the past, the Roush Mustang will be available in RS, RS1, RS2, and RS3 versions. The RS will upgrade the Mustang V6, while the RS1 will boost the Mustang EcoBoost and the RS2 should made the Mustang GT even better. The R3, however, is a big step up from the rest, adding a supercharger and other items to the equation. The 2014 R3 Mustang squeezed out 575 horsepower, so we can assume the 2015 version will be even stronger.

According to Automobile magazine, all 2015 Roush Mustangs will come with a custom body kit featuring a front splitter, redone grille and front fascia, hood vents (with an optional hood scoop), rear fender vents, revamped rear fascia with rear diffuser, and rear spoiler. All this rolls on custom Roush 20-inch cast wheels with Cooper RS3 tires.

Since Ford plans to roll out more Mustang models, we probably can expect Roush to have an R4 Mustang in the none-too-distant future.
