Ford Racing Gives Fans A Tour Of Its Swedish Rally Workshop: Video

All cars are made slightly differently. Across the world, factories churn out the machines we all adhere to. In Sweden they’re doing something a little more special. They’re making rally cars for Ford Racing.

Enter Olsberg MSE, or simply OMSE. Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE in Nynashamn, Sweden and these days instead of racing dirt slinging, snow shooting, rally machines, he and 46 other employees are building Ford Racing cars all from scratch. Specifically, they craft Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross, and the video documents how much goes into crafting one rally car, over 400 hours to be precise. Things get so busy, sometimes employees stay in apartments on premises to ensure work is completed. Now that is dedication.

Upon completion, the Ford Racing Fiesta ST seen may resemble the same you can purchase from your local dealer, but on the inside blood, sweat, and tears have gone into creating a screaming 600 hp Ford racer ready to take on any elements. Scroll below to see the video for yourself.

Sean is a staff writer for GM Authority and Motrolix. When's he's not busy taking in local automotive culture, he's probably detailing his car.
