General Motors sold 69,048 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size pickup trucks in the United States during August 2014, edging out crosstown rival Ford Motor Motor Company and its popular F-Series by 939 units.
The General sold 49,201 Chevy Silverados and 19,847 GMC Sierras, an increase of 12.83 percent and 10.16 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, as the market anticipates the all-new 2015 F-150, sales of the Ford F-Series dropped 4.23 percent to 68,048 units in August.
Notably, sales of the Ram truck shot up 32.62 percent to 43,775 units, while those of the Toyota Tundra grew 4.13 percent to 11,834 units.
