Porsche North America Adds Third Entry For Tudor COTA Race

Porsche North America has a new ace up their sleeve for next weekend’s Tudor United SportsCar Championship race at Circuit of the Americas; they will be fielding a third Porsche 911 RSR in the manufacturer’s class, according to Motorsports Talk. Porsche already holds a 2-point lead over their nearest manufacturer competitor, Chevrolet’s Corvette Racing.

“By fielding a third 911 RSR with Porsche North America in Austin we want to maintain our good title chances as leaders of the manufacturer’s classification,” says Porsche’s Head of Motorsport Hartmut Kristen. We think they already had it in the bag. Add to that the Porsche 911 RSR being run in the same GT LeMans class by Falken Tire and it becomes evident that seeing a podium finish for the marque is practically ensured.

The four 911s running in the GTLM class give the manufacturer double the number of cars that BMW, Corvette and Dodge are entering.

You can stream this weekend’s Lone Star Le Mans race at COTA live, at the IMSA website.
