When you hear “Saleen” you may think of Mustangs that have received a healthy dose of suspension and horsepower improvements. Saleen also has attempted to create a true American supercar with the S7. But what happens when the company gets its hands on a Tesla Model S?

Yes, you read right: they modified an electric car. It’s called the Saleen FourSixteen, but we’ll just call it Saleen Tesla to avoid confusion.

But don’t poo-pooh the project just yet, Luddites − there’s some really great things going on with this car. Steve Saleen feels electric cars are not a fad and are here to stay, so why not give the Model S the Saleen touch? The handling, acceleration, and braking all have been raised a few notches.

Tesla has rewritten the rulebook how to approach building an EV and what it is capable of, which now gives Saleen the opportunity to give the Model S their special treatment.
