2015 Ford F-150 Crowned The Truck Of Texas

Ford trucks took home top honors at the Texas Truck Rodeo including the coveted truck of the year title for the 2015 Ford F-150. This prestigious award is the highest praise from the Texas Auto Writers Association.

For years, Texas has been home to the largest truck market in the world. As such, it is become incredibly crucial for truck makers to do well here. This has really ramped up the pressure the 2015 Ford F-150 to win the truck of Texas award from TAWA.

“TAWA members represent the voice of truck buyers in Texas, America’s largest truck market,” said Mike Marrs, president of TAWA. “After exhaustively testing 75 vehicles from 18 brands, the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 is our clear choice for Truck of Texas.”

This testing is done at the annual TAWA “Texas Truck Rodeo.”  It has become the largest gathering of pickups in the country for journalists to test.

“TAWA members are among the first to experience the all-new 2015 Ford F-150’s breakthrough innovations and best-in-class capabilities, features that will help our hardworking customers improve their productivity,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president, The Americas. “It is an honor to again be named Truck of Texas. We are committed to continuously improving America’s favorite trucks.”

Ford has largely dominated this competition with nine of the last 12 Truck of Texas honorees being Ford F-Series Trucks.

Including the truck of the year honors, Ford was also recognized as the winner of the Truck Line of Texas. This award recognizes Ford for their entire lineup.

Also taking home honors was the 2015 Ford Transit. It was named the Commercial Vehicle of Texas.

“Transit delivers it all – better fuel economy, more capability, the largest number of technology choices, and the most innovative and diversified offering of configurations in a full-size van,” said Hinrichs. “We’re honored TAWA members also have recognized Transit as a game changer for our hardworking commercial vehicle customers.”

Other Ford TAWA awards included:

  • Truck of Texas: 2015 Ford F-150
  • Truck Line of Texas: Ford Motor Company
  • Commercial Vehicle of Texas: 2015 Ford Transit
