2015 Ford Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle Allows Even Prisoners To Travel In Style

Prisoners may not like it, but law enforcement should be happy driving the new 2015 Ford Transit Prisoner Transport vehicle.

The 2015 Ford Transit PTV comes with an upfit prisoner conveyance system with space to carry 12 prisoners in three separate compartments. Ford created the system with the Warminster, Pennsylvania-based Havis Prisoner Transport Solutions company. Also, a police advisory board provided feedback to help improve the product.

2015 Ford Transit PTV is the latest example of Ford’s deep commitment to helping provide law enforcement agencies with capable vehicles,” said Jonathan Honeycutt, Ford police marketing manager. “This concept proves Transit is upfit-ready and designed to Built Ford Tough standards.”

We are guessing prisoners won’t like hearing how Built Ford Tough the 2015 Ford Transit PTV is, yet the guards will.

The 2015 Ford Transit PTV is new for 2015 and offers a range of configuration options. It also includes different engine options like a 3.7L V6, 3.5L EcoBoost and a 3.2L Power Stroke diesel.

Ford is the leader in police vehicles with its Ford Police Interceptor utility as the best-selling vehicle through 2014 and accounts for 56 percent of Ford police vehicle sales.
