2016 Ford Focus RS Won’t Be Built In The U.S.

Ford fans in the U.S. may be happy with the Focus ST, but should they be satisfied? After all, it seems the rest of the world gets the Focus RS, while we end up with the crumbs. But it always helps to keep the faith, as we already know that the Focus RS will be coming stateside for 2016.

However, according to The Truth About Cars, Ford has confirmed the Focus RS will be imported from Europe and not built in the U.S. Equipped with a turbo 2.3L and all-wheel-drive, you can expect the RS’s output to be pushing at least 325 horses.

There is a good chance availability will be limited due to the fact the RS isn’t being built in the U.S., so it may be a mixed blessing for Ford since the automaker likely isn’t interested in having Mustang sales cannibalized by a rally-inspired hatch. For car enthusiasts, however, they may have a different sentiment.
