5-Millionth Ford Super Duty Rolls Off Assembly Line

The 5-millionth Ford F-Series Super Duty will roll off the Kentucky Truck Plant’s assembly line next month. This is a testament to their popularity among customers needing a powerful truck.

“Super Duty trucks are engineered to meet the needs of the toughest customers,” said Doug Scott, Ford Truck group marketing manager. “Their continued sales dominance with these demanding customers proves how hard they deliver.”

For 15 years, the Louisville, Kentucky plant has been producing the Ford F-Series Super Duty line of trucks (F-250 to F-550).

IHS Automotive Polk Data says the Super Duty truck line leads the segment with 44 percent of the market share. It is also the market leader in a variety of fields:

  • 72 percent of metal mining workers
  • 70 percent of law enforcement agencies
  • 54 percent of highway maintenance workers

With its renowned toughness and capability plus a powerful Power Stroke engine, it is easy to see why Ford has built 5-million Super Duty trucks.
