Bentley SUV Spied Without Camo

Autoblog acquired these spy shots of the forthcoming Bentley SUV – which is still unnamed – taken while it was testing near the Nürburgring.

The underlying platform of the future Bentley SUV is the same as that planned to serve as the basis for the new Volkswagen Tuoareg, Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, and the proposed Lamborghini Urus. Not much else is known, beside that the Bentley SUV may be on the market as soon as late 2015, and is expected to be compelled by a 6.0 liter V12, although an alternative hybrid powertrain may be in the works.

The overall appearance of the Bentley SUV is largely unchanged from the EXP 9 F concept unveiled way back in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The wheels, headlamps and grille look less busy and bedazzled than on the concept (thank God), but the overbearing stance and angular rear flares remain intact. We like that.

Bentley has enough other possible projects in the queue, so it remains to be seen whether the Bentley SUV will make it to production by the firm’s goal of late 2015, as a 2016 model year vehicle.
