Porsches Shot In Sochi, Wearing Full Martini Racing Livery

Last week, Porsche posted some gorgeously vivid – albeit perplexing – photos on their Facebook page of most of their current lineup of vehicles on the streets of Sochi, Russia, all wearing marvelous Martini Racing livery for, you know, reasons.

And as Autoblog points out, those reasons are left unaddressed by the manufacturer’s Facebook page. The page simply says that these cars bearing Martini Racing livery are “a flashback to the famous past and a celebration of a legendary return.”

Barring any jokes about Germany trying again to invade Russia, what could this possibly mean? Rather than look like fools, we won’t hazard a guess. What we will say is that something about slathering the Martini Racing Livery all over the Cayenne and Macan crossovers seems somehow sacrilegious, given their ability to make every old school Porsche aficionado sullenly question what’s happened to their brand.

But then again, the crossovers look quite good in Martini Racing livery – in fact, we don’t think we’ve ever liked those two vehicles better. Maybe that should be a factory option.

You can view the full gallery of stunning photos on the Porsche Facebook page.
