Tesla Irks Existing Model S Owners With Introduction Of SP85 D, New Safety Features

Tesla recently unveiled several exciting updates for its fully-electric Model S sedan. These include the new dual-motor, all-wheel drive SP85 ‘D’ version of the sedan and all-new active safety technologies that will be standard on all models, including a forward-looking camera with radar and 360-degeree sonar. These new features were designed to make future Tesla customers happier, but in turn, they’ve irked the existing ones.

Some Tesla customers ordered their Model S sedan just a few months ago and are now saying they would have held out for another few months to order either the all-wheel drive SP85 D or the updated Model S with new safety features. The disgruntled owners have even taken to Change.org in an attempt to get the California-based electric automaker to equip their cars with the systems. A first-world problem if there ever was one.

Tesla has yet to reply to the complaints, but knowing CEO Elon Musk’s pro-active nature when it comes to anyone badmouthing or speaking ill of his company, we’re expecting a fairly detailed response in the near future.
