These Off-Road Conversion Kits Should Hold Of Demand For A 2015 Ford F-150 Raptor

Leave it to the aftermarket companies to fill a void when Ford said it won’t offer a 2015 Ford F-150 Raptor. But maybe a 2016 Ford Raptor? At any rate, Addictive Desert Designs has developed two “Baja kits” that bring the Raptor to the 2015 Ford F-150. Not only do these kits look like a Raptor, they add all the mechanical improvements to bring on the fun!

ADD says they worked with Ford to develop the kits that come with extended wheel travel, wider stances and upgraded suspension. These kits seem a bit pricy ranging from $27,500 to $32,750 plus the truck, yet this is about what the outgoing Raptor retails for. Or perhaps what a 2015 Ford F-150 Raptor would retail for.

Officially, ADD offers two kits: XT and maximum-extreme XTR. The truck kits get their name from Ford Racing’s Brian Deegan and feature parts from many of the top aftermarket outfitters around like Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels, FOX Racing Shox, KC Hilites, Mastercraft Safety, Rockford Fosgate, Full-Race Motorsports, Leading Edge Tuning, ProEFI and SCT Performance.

The two kits offer:

2015 Ford F150 Baja XT (Base Price: $27,500)

  • Full 7″ wider then stock F150
  • Custom wide body fender kit for front and rear
  • Front travel of about 12″ total
  • Fabricated lower and upper a-arms
  • Fabricated replacement spindle
  • Billet tie rod kit
  • Rear travel of about 14″ total
  • Ford Factory rear end widened by Currie (or Full fabricated Currie F9 full floater optional)
  • Custom under bed shock mount and cross member
  • Bump stop kit in rear

2015 Ford F150 Baja XTR (Base Price: $32,750.00)

  • Full 7″ wider then stock F150
  • Custom wide body fender kit for front and rear
  • Front travel of about 12″ total
  • Fabricated lower and upper a-arms
  • Fabricated replacement spindle
  • Billet tie rod kit
  • Rear travel of about 18″ total
  • Currie F9 fabricated full floating 4″ tube rear end housing
  • Bolt in bed cage with tire carrier and jack mount
  • Bump stop kit in rear

What’s the difference? ADD General Manager Greg Foutz says:

“Baja XT is an under the bed shock kit with less rear wheel travel at about 14″ and one called the Baja XTR for the more extreme version. This one has a bed cage and shocks that go into the bed to deliver 18″ of travel in the rear.”

“They both share our full fabricated front suspension system which consists of full fabricated lower and upper arms and full fabricated replacement spindle. The truck is 7″ wider than the normal 2015 F150 and both have about 12″ front wheel travel with Fox Shocks all the way around. We also use a Fox bump stop in the rear for bottom out protection with a custom built mounting kit that is all 100% bolt on.”

These kits will be on display at the SEMA show in Las Vegas next month.
