Who would have guessed? But this is the third year in a row that the Ford Mustang has won the SEMA Hottest Car Category. It could be claimed that the 2014 SEMA Show was a shoo-in because the Mustang is all-new, but how to explain the previous years?
Nonetheless, SEMA Award is a way to see which vehicle models exhibitors believe will resonate with the enthusiast community − after all, these insiders have a “unique ability to identify what’s hot” just before they get trendy. In the Mustang‘s case, its smart good looks, updated powertrain (and powertrain selection), and huge bear hug from the aftermarket community suggest that the 2015 Ford Mustang is a natural.
As a Ford Racing’s Jesse Kershaw says in the below video, “This is just the start for this new platform … it energizes us and makes us want to work even harder when we see how hard the aftermarket has embraced it.”
